Colors from the artwork
The background takes its colors from the current cover and drifts slowly; it rests when you pause. Light covers get a deeper overlay so text always stays readable.
Line-by-line lyrics
The current line sits right under the cover. Tap it to open the full lyrics with the current line highlighted. Songs without lyrics are marked in advance.
Play next, skip nothing
Pick any song in Up Next and it plays right away; the songs before it stay put and play afterwards. Songs that can't be played are skipped automatically.
Mini player and shortcuts
On Mac, shrink it to a small artwork card whose controls appear only when you hover. Keyboard, media keys, headphone controls and Control Center all work.
Loves go back to Apple Music
Songs you love here are synced to your Apple Music, so your recommendations keep getting better. Your library always stays in Apple Music.

No account to createIt uses the Apple Music account already signed in on your device. Grant access once and you're set.
No analytics, no adsThere is no analytics, advertising or tracking code in the app. We never record what you listen to.
No servers of oursWe don't run any servers. Your music data travels only between your device and Apple.
What you'll need
- Devices
- Mac (macOS 14 or later); iPhone and iPad (iOS / iPadOS 17 or later).
- Apple Music
- An active Apple Music subscription, with the same Apple Account signed in to the Music app on your device. MusicKit Lab does not sell subscriptions.
- Internet
- Needed to stream songs and load recommendations and lyrics. If the connection gets shaky, it keeps playing your last recommendations.
- Language
- The app interface is currently in Simplified Chinese.
